Control panels options have blue highlights

Some time back, I tried out a couple of themes before deciding that none of them suited me. I then uninstalled the themes and UXStyle but my control panel still looks semi-themed.. I would like to remove the highlights behind the options.

EDIT: I found out that other user profiles do not have this problem. However, I'd like to not change user profiles if possible..

Try running "sfc /scannow" in an elevated command prompt. Reboot if it finds any errors.

You could also try going to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes and double clicking on aero.theme to bring back the default theme.

Upon running sfc /scannow, it tells me that "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
Opening the aero.theme file does not remedy the issue either.

If you're not already on build 10586 you could try an UG as it may well fix the issue

I had this issue prior to 10586 but I have already upgraded, it did not solve the issue.

    Thanks for your assistance.

    @ chuakid:
It's probably the result of residuals left behind from using a theme patcher.
Your best option may be a clean install.

I see... I guess I'll have to put up with it. Thanks.

I guess you could try say one of the Windows themes then revert it and see if it fixes it?
