    screensaver

I'll try to use a folder with pictures as screensaver - which I had in WINXP and WIN7. But I receive a message, that the folder can't be used because it's not in the right place. Where should I store this folder to work as screensaver in WIN10?

When I right-click the Desktop and choose Personalize I get a panel with Lock Screen on the left list/column. Clicking that gives a panel which has Screen saver settings at the bottom. When I open that it shows I can use the Pictures Folder for showing images. Clicking the Settings just to the left of Preview gives another panel with a link to this page:
how to get help in windows 10 - Bing
Admittedly, it is more tedious to wade through everything to get to that point.

I haven't tried yet to choose a different Folder, just put what I want for a screensaver in Pictures then put everything else in subFolders, don't have much there yet but will as time goes on.

EDIT: awaiting supper so tested, moved several screen shots I'd saved as .png into a subFolder then did the Preview, Windows picked up those images and displayed them. Seems one would need to use Folders outside Pictures if not wanting to have sensitive images shown.

I don't know how you do it, but in screensavers, choose the Photos screensaver and then click on Settings. In "Use pictures from" click on Browse and the select any folder containing the pictures you want. Next time the screensaver starts it should display pictures from that folder (and any subfolders) only. Just tried and didn't receive any error when selecting a folder on my desktop. I also have a Photo Gallery screensaver that is a bit different, but I guess this is part of Windows Essentials, not default in Windows 10.
