Anyway to convert a Windows 7 themes to a Windows 10...

Anyway to convert a Windows 7 themes to a Windows 10 without upgrading. I tried windows file transfer but it wouldn't transfer settings. I would like to keep windows 7 & windows 10 dual boot. I have a gray theme in windows 7. Could I copy the registry settings and do it that way?

I have attached a sample of my theme, that I use on Windows 7. I also tried one drive, it wouldn't even save the settings from windows 7 but it would save the files.

Can you post the actual .theme file? Copy the saved theme into a compressed folder first (.theme is not a filetype the forum allows for uploads)

Customs Windows Themes or deskthemepacks between Windows 7 and Windows 8 and 8.1 are not compatible so it stands to reason that a Windows 7 theme will not work on Windows 10 either.

Custom themer's are able to port Windows 7 themes over to 8 / 8.1 or 10 but it takes a little work, but I think what you have pictured above is just a modified desktop theme (.deskthemepack), not a custom visual style.
You may be able to come close in Windows 10 by just selecting one of the high contrast themes. You will probably not get the same exact result as the Windows UI has changed so much but you may come close.

I wouldn't try copying over the registry setting from 7 to 10, even if you managed to you would probably render your machine unusable and have to reinstall the entire OS.

You should check out the thread in the Windows 8 Forum about a utility that reveals a usable "classic" desktop on Windows 8.1. I'm sure (almost sure) it would also work on Windows 10.
