    windows 10 context menus have huge padding

    The new W10 insider build context menus have huge paddings.
    In the netbook, the taskbar context menu almost cover the entire height of the screen and the start menu context menu overflows and shows arrows to scroll.

    Is there a way to make them more compact like in RTM

    I have this problem too. The reason why I don't like OS's after XP is their huge context menu.

    They look so ugly and what is worse, there is totally unnecessary space on menus.
    To be things even worse, they killed Classic Theme. I used Classic Theme on Windows 7 just because of ugly menus of Aero Theme and other themes.
    I hope some day ClassicShell will make compact menus like XP or Classic Theme.

    Create a .reg file and double click to merge into the registry, signout or restart explorer:
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\FlightedFeatures]
    "ImmersiveContextMenu"=dword:00000000

    I just tried that in Win10 1909, but it has no effect. Is "FlightedFeatures" really the Registry key that controls compactness of menus, or was that maybe an incorrect cut and paste?

    This reg-key does not work anymore , it did a few Windows-versions ago .
    Set it to "1" , "0" , or just delete this key ...........no effect at all !

    Yeah, they removed the reg tweak in build 1809. Old "classic" menus can no longer be enabled that way anymore. There is another way to get them back, but the patch is in a very early state:Releases . rikka0w0/ExplorerContextMenuTweaker . GitHub
