The problem is right from desktop. The whole desktop screen just jumps to Portrait. Dont know what I am doing to cause it.

Sorry, I dont know what a Build number is. Does it mean the laptop model part? Where do I find that.

    Thanks. Try:

How to Change Display Orientation in Windows 10

    - from the huge searchable Tutorials section- illustrated. Invaluable- do have a look.

or - from a Google search:

If that helps, the build number doesn't matter for this, but please include it in any future post. Sometimes it's important.

Build number: The forum prompted you when you wrote your post... so we don't have to keep asking. Sadly hundreds ignore that.

    Hi Thanks

I had already done all you suggest. I researched for ages before I came to the Forum, including the references you gave me... which are simply the basics of how to change the orientation in Display. I do that every time it rotates to portrait.

I am after a permanent stop to auto rotation.

I found the Build in my settings and then went to add it in here in my forum details. But there does not seem to be anything there called BUILD. There is OS - which I thought meant Windows 10. Anyway I have put the build number in another spot

Possibly a monitor or graphics controller setting?

    Consider automatic rotation:

    Build number:

I had already checked the graphics etc drivers and so on.

Not sure why you gave ne the info of where to find my Build details when I had just said I found it?

That's OK. I will leave it. I dont need how to reset it in Display.

I will find it somewhere, somehow.

    Thanks
