Accent color for window border BUT NOT title bar?
Is this even possible with Win 10?
Registry hack or possibly a 3rd party application?
Thank you.

Pete,
If you look in
Change Window Background Color - TenForumsTutorials
you'll see the relevant Registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors
and it contains entries called
ActiveBorder
InactiveBorder
so perhaps changing them might achieve what you want.
You might need to restart Explorer.exe to make the changes 'take'.
Do export that Registry key before starting to change anything so you can get back to normal if it all starts to go wrong.
Best of luck,
Denis
And for convenience try
Download WinPaletter - MajorGeeks
Multi Accent Color Theming for Windows! (WinPaletter) - YouTube
Pete,
I think that you've now got it working.
It would be helpful for future readers if you added some explanation about any hurdles you had to overcome in order to do the job.
All the best,
And thanks for the rep,
Denis
Welcome to TenForums.
It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.- At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.- Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
- I download a new copy each month.
- By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
- Both tutorial lists are searchable.
- You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials
You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
- You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
- [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]
After much fiddling I decided not to. For now, anyway. Sorry.
Pete,
Not a bother.
And do come back to this thread if you ever decide to go ahead.
I have played around with one of those entries myself [TitleBar colours] so I might spot a way round any difficulties you might have.
All the best,
Denis
