    .txt next to documents ?

    Hello.

I bought a new pc at the end of Sep. And i just got done tweaking it, except that im still in the process of making a backup to hd with Macrium and might check out the BIOS settings aswell to see if there is anything i want to change there. But i notice that i have made some change that puts .txt next to all my documents, but i cant remember where i turned that on. So does anyone know where to turn it off again ?

    Hello @BossSiggy,

It is a Setting in File Explorer Options > Hide or Show File Name Extensions in Windows 10

    I hope this helps.

Note that many people actually find the file extension being shown as helpful.. doucments could be (e.g.)
rtf, txt, doc, docx, pdf, lst ......

Not to forget the security aspect, I would keep file extensions visible.

Is there a group policy for this? I would like to make it very difficult (preferably impossible) to hide file extensions. Hidden file extensions are a serious security hole - the virus-writer's best friend.
