    yes, that the one
but can we set custom time for indexing "update" the list ? not base on idle time
or increase the idle time if more than xx minutes or any custom condition ?

    Hello @EnvioX,

In the Tutorial, it does actually says . . .

When you first run indexing, it can take up to a couple hours to complete. After that, indexing will run in the background on your PC as you use it, only re-indexing updated data.

The search index only includes your selected locations. These locations can be filtered for what file types (extensions), file properties, and file contents you want indexed.

The index uses the Windows Search service and runs as the Searchindexer.exe process in the background. The index will automatically rebuild and update for changes made to the included locations since the last index rebuild to increase search result accuracy.

By default, the search indexer backoff feature will reduce indexing speed while rebuilding the index when there is user activity, and will automatically continue at full speed when no user activity is detected.
So you could either set your preferred selected locations to reduce the number of locations and therefore reduce the time taken for Indexing, or completely disable the search indexing.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello @EnvioX,

Of course, there is another alternative if you want to go down that route by disabling the search indexing and using a third-party software such as . . .

    You are VERY welcome.

I use the Portable version myself, although I do NOT perform searches that often.

Hi, Windows indexing uses no background resources on a working system.
I have all the files outside the basic O/S indexed on my PCs - and there is no downside to that.

Your request to schedule it is based on a misconception.

When items are modified that are in parts of the file system and of a file type specified to be indexed, then those items are indexed.

You should NOT be aware of any overheads due to indexing on a working system.
Further, indexing PAUSES (backs off) with just the slightest user activity.

So, the question you need to ask - is why you are concerned about resource usage due to indexing- if indeed that's what you're seeing.

I see no screenshots demonstrating that's the case. Could you please provide this? Thanks.

Answers suggesting ways of stopping or substituting for Windows indexing are missing the point.
