    Windows Spotlight won't stop

I turned on "Windows Spotlight" in my Lockscreen settings (Personalization) for a while but then wanted to go back to selecting my own background image. I can select an image, but a few hours or a day later the windows spotlight images come back again. The selection in Lockscreen still says "Image", but the image has changed to a lockscreen one. If I again select my image, it only holds for a while, then reverts to a spotlight image.

Does anyone know a fix for this? If I could find the Windows Spotlight service or exe or task I would disable/delete it, but I can't find it.

    Hello Mikey, :)

Double check to make sure that you had turned off the Get fun facts, tips, and more on your lock screen setting for the Picture background. That setting will show Windows Mini-Spotlight.

I would think that it would show only on your selected picture, but it's worth looking at in case it may be changing it.

    Hi Brink,
Thanks for the quick reply. I did turn that setting off, but it didn't help. When I had it turned on I never saw anything like tips or anything on the lock screen anyway. I also had Amazon set to show detailed status on the lockscreen, I turned that off to see what happens. I will also try setting it to show a slideshow, maybe Spotlight won't override that.

Update - Spotlight overrides the slideshow too. Like before, the selection in the lockscreen settings still says Slideshow, but the image shown in the preview and on the lockscreen is a spotlight one. This is not a big deal, just another microbug. If I ever come across a fix I will post it here.

Odd bug. I'll keep my eyes open for anything as well.

Be sure to also send feedback to Microsoft for this.

I'm relieved I'm not the only one with this problem. I assumed it was something wrong with my settings, I even factory resetted my laptop (for different reasons), but still the problem persisted. Just thought I'd throw out there that this problemis happening with multiple users it seems.

I don't know if any of you fixed this but I have a solution to the Slideshow showing the beach image from Windows Spotlight. What you do is choose "Picture" as your lock screen background image and choose any image from your slideshow. Then you choose slideshow after you do that and choose the folder that has all your slideshow images in it and say goodbye to that Windows Spotlight image.
