    How to change cursor themes for regular user

    Hi, I'm having this problem for a long time every time I spend many hours searching & trying but couldn't find something useful. I thought maybe I can get the right answer here.

    What I want to do is simple. I want to change my windows cursor theme. I know how to do it already I installed many custom themes but my problem is that when I install the theme I can't find my installed themes the themes exist in my C:\Windows\Cursors folder and I can use them in my admin account but in my regular account I can't I looked for a local directory were I can place these theme but I couldn't find any, I tried to change it from the Regedit as well but it didn't work.

    Hi, considering themes, rather than only cursor themes: it is possible to install theme packs for all users:

    Install desktop theme for all users in Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7

    Hopefully that addresses part of your question.

    As ever, make sure you have a suitable backup e.g. restore point, disk image, before making changes.

    Have you added a comment under that article?

    If, for some reason, it is out of date, I would hope Sergey Tkachenko will respond accordingly.

    I see nothing in it that specifies a Windows build beyond which it is invalid, and I do see a comment by a respondent that it worked for them.

    I note there are several stages and therefore several possibilities for error. I've not tried it myself.

    got you now, you may have to enable user (guest account) rights for this operation to let users apart from admin make changes there, this is a bit beyond me and i'm sure someone can help you there if this is the issue.

    maybe this will help....

    @rooscoota Thanks for your response.
    Well I'm using a standard account/user on purpose for security reasons. I use my admin account only for admin tasks like installing, uninstalling apps and other admin stuff. It's weird honestly to not being able to do such simple thing lol. IDK if people haven't faced such issue. I'm thinking developing a simple utility app for this issue may solve it for me cuz I searched many many forums and blogs but non of them talked about this issue.
