When coming out of Sleep or Hibernation the first thing I say to people is "Hit the Restart"! People cry that things won't work when they come out of sleep mode or hibernation where drivers have also gone to sleep and need to woken up! Restart to see that taken care as well as see everything load up fresh again. That would be one quick fix!

That's one of my bitches about Win 10. Since upgrading from Win 7 Have to restart at least once everyday. Sometimes after computer wakes up, sometimes after playing in Win 10 too long....I guess. Never had this problem with 7 . Hopefully future updates will fix these problems.

Well I've seen too many threads going back to XP where people were always complaining about the same thing. When coming out of the sleep mode things were buggy! The fast and easy way to avoid any of those problems as explained was simply to hit the restart which simply refreshes everything in one shot!

Here depending on which desktop or laptop I never even use sleep mode but either leaving on 24/7 or shutdown or turn off completely. With the main on constantly even with 7 over the last several I had to periodically refresh things when something like Windows Explorer wouldn't respond or something would lock! Reboot and call it a day!

Night Hawk and tcman50 - how did you get all your tiles the same color? I might be able to live with the Start Menu if I could do that!

Update - found the way to get them all one color - just hadn't explored it enough - am going to try Windows 10 Start Menu - been using Classic Start. but am open to change. Think I might like it!

Personlization holds many an answer! The background or theme you have applied will decide that for you unless....

you leave that on/off switch set to on where Windows automatically decides for you or you turn it off and then have to pick a color!

Pick a color please! That will then become the color of the main task bar as well as for the Start menu. You will also see the option for seeing them made transparent.

And in the last section for Advanced you have the High Contrast options seen there for when you have a theme applied.

These are the options you have to work with as far as colors while the background as a separate wallpaper can still be anything you want. I suspect you even still see the Bing Desktop web slide presentation app work on 10 as well. Never did use that one here however.

Want to see High Contrast at work do you? No you don't! Get ready to view with a pair of sun shades on!

That was the High Contrast Black applied there! The other will tend to you toss a high intensity spot light in your face!

Ok now you can take the shades of! It's over!
