Nice gold texture Cliff. The text doesn't really pop though. Try giving it a drop shadow that should make it stand out a bit.
I really wanted the logo strong and the text hinted at(less busy). but I'll try your recommendation(Experience teaches).

I also resized the gold background before I added the Hyper-V layer this time.

That came out well "Pronounced" either way you look at it! Still need to get some more W10 lettering going here since the light blue insert can only go so far as well as the dark one that has seen quite a bit more use. Once you have a standard pixel size like 900, 1024, or other you can work off that to a degree or simply make up several blank sizes first to add the lettering onto. Here I like to get things sized up before seeing multiple res in order to keep everything consistent.

Matching colors per background will always be a key element for seeing something come out looking good! The gold acts as a neutral background there being a solid color. Now look at maze type backgrounds like visualizations for an audio media player like WMP or AIMP and try something with a few of those. It won't be as easy to find a working combination.

Speaking of the lighter insert? I found another use for that one!

The second 1600x1028 was simply a fast resize from the 1440x1024 with the insert already applied rather then seeing the stretch take place first. The orb in the center as with any other round circular object is what takes the hit the most when becoming oval shaped. Be working on a few others later however.

I think I prefer the second one, the stretch gives it some perspective so that it looks like you are looking down at an angle.

The lettering looks great for that one! As for the second one I could have made the first look that way as well simply by reducing it from 1024 to 900 pixels on the height. So let's look at how the 900 pixels came out.

    First the 1440x900 there.

And now the Big Risk at 1600x900 stretching it a bit.
