No Creative Key in Lockscreen setting in Registry

    Hi Windows 10 forums,

I am trying to make the "Like What You See" dialog appear in my Windows 10 User Lockscreen. I am running Windows 10 Pro version 21H2 (OS Build 19044.1645) from my user account in the Registry opened with Admin Privilege's. I found directions at this site for enabling "Like What You See" How to turn on Windows Spotlight Like What You See option. The directions told me to permanently delete the files in the folder: C:\Users<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_<somerandomcharac ters>\Settings. I did this, but "Like What You See" did not appear when I restarted.

Next I tried to follow the registry hack directions from the same site which said to go to
    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Lock Screen,
and open the folder labeled Creative, but there was no Creative folder there, just a folder labeled FeedManager.

Did I destroy the Creative folder in the Registry when I deleted the files I mention above? I notice that the "settings.dat" file I deleted has been restored. Is there any way to find or create the Creative folder? If not, is there any other way to make "Like What You See" appear on my user lockscreen? Thanks.

I’d use this tutorial which should fix the ‘Like what you see’:
Reset and Re-register Windows Spotlight in Windows 10

In my experience 'Like what you see' only appears if you lock the PC yourself, either with WinKey+L or by leaving it idle long enough for the lock screen to kick in.

It never appears on my lock screen when I first boot up the PC.

No. The tutorial Bastet gave you to reset Spotlight deletes those files too.

    Like What You See works!

    Hi Bree,
Thanks for your answer. I didn't know I actually had to lock the screen to see the lockscreen message! Duh! It works perfectly. Yesterday there were some landscape paintings and I really wanted to know who painted them. Next time, I'll be ready.

The reason they don't appear a startup seems to be because you haven't signed in yet. Those links can only do something when clicked on if you have already signed in before the lock screen appears.

You can save copies of the Spotlight images, and if you're lucky that one may still be on your PC. If so you could do a Google 'search by image' to identify it.

How to find the LockScreen folder

    Thanks Bree,
I found my own method of retrieving LockScreen images. It's probably more laborious than the link you gave me, but less intimidating for me (not into Power Shell or batch files). This link gave directions on how to find the LockScreen files, copy them to another folder and rename them as JPGs. Where Are the Windows Lock Screen Images Stored? – Improve & Repeat I used a renaming utility to batch rename them (Advanced Renamer) and then weeded out the icons and other small images by deleting smaller files. I was left with 4 LockScreen images -- not the ones I wanted, but there was one I had not seen and identified as a Pissarro. Thanks for your help on this.
