    Recycle-bin Icons not refreshing

Was hoping to replace the recycle-bin icons with more attractive ones but am having trouble with the results.

    Scenario:
    Proceeded to go to - SETTINGS> PERSONALIZATION> THEMES> DESKTOP ICON SETTINGS>
I changed both the EMPTY and FULL icons.

    Success.

Now deleting something does not immediately change the icon to FULL state.
When I press F5 the icon refreshes.
NOTE: all worked well prior to changing the icons

Doesn't matter where I place the icons, nor if I restart the computer!

    W H A T !!!!

    how do I fix this?

Change back? Not all replacement icons are animated in the way that the recycle bin is. It actually has a small program behind it.

You can't be serious! An animated .ico file?

Windows lets you change them and doesn't specify that they have to be "annimated .ico" !

I did not say the ICO was animated! The recycle bin image appears animated when switching programmatically. View it full, view it empty. Savvy? Two modes.

    Don't break a hip!

Not sure if you have sorted this yet or not, you need to index the icon with a reference number for it to refresh properly, after the path and name of the icon put a comma and the number 0.
Change empty Data value to C:\Windows\System32\FilenameEmpty.ico,0 (as an example)
Change full Data value to C:\Windows\System32\FilenameFull.ico,0 (as an example).
