How to disable wifi hover text

    Hello everyone,
I'm new to these forums and glad to have found a place where I can ask my questions:)
I'm using windows 10 and whenever I hover my cursor over the wifi icon in bottom right corner of my screen, a white box pops up with the name of my active connections. How do I disable that box so it never appears again. Please, don't ask me why I want it gone; it's complicated!
I have already tried disabling infotip popups which seems to have no effect on this icon.
    I'd really appreciate your help.

Hello rayaan and welcome to tenforums

How about just hiding the icon completely? If that's an option.

Windows 10 Tip: Drag To The Notification Area | Bruceb Consulting maybe it will still be in the overflow area where you can still get to it.

Thank you Steve, but I'm already aware that I can hide the icon. I just want to stop the white box from popping up, that's it.

I think you can't do that because this is a popup menu which is deeply part of task bar.

The only possible way I'm thinking of to investigate is registry editor, but I wouldn't lay too much effort in it.

I don't think it can be done either, so I was suggesting alternatives that might help.
