    Icon Sets For Multiple PCs

I have two pc's; one for home use & one work pc. I have created an icon folder holding all of my custom icons in my work OneDrive account; which is accessible from both pcs.

When accessing my work OneDrive account on my home pc all of the icons display as the customized icons but this is not the case for the work pc.

I do not want to go linking each icon individually again for each icon. Surely there is a .sys file which I can edit on the work pc? The aim is to roll this out to 100 or so users in the end.

Home Pc - Win 10 Pro Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1348)
Work Pc - Win 10 Pro Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1348).

Depends what you're modifying - which files in the O/S. For example, before I turned to Stardock's Iconchanger (which is non-intrusive and I use to apply a set of Vista icons) I used a free program which applied an icon set to imageres.dll only.

Personally I'd either use/create a theme or use a program such as Iconchanger.

Thanks, they're just folders. I have the IconPackager app but is this not limited to filetype icon sets? I have many individual files so just found myself creating an individual folder holding the .icons (which are custom made) & I've painstakingly linked them all.

All I need to do now is edit the filepath in windows e.g. pathto/mywonderfulicons/e.g.image01.ico then I would edit on my work pc to pathto/newpathwhatevermywonderfulicons/e.g.image01.ico

Ah- do you mean you're applying unique icons to individual folders?

You would need to modify desktop.ini in each of the folders so there's an entry pointing to the icon you wich to be assigned to that folder. Example:

    Icon and folder

    Icon Sets For Multiple PCs-2.jpg
Icon appplied to folder showing change made in desktop.ini
(using convenient program just for this demo).

    And there's desktop.ini

So you'd need a script that makes that change applying the icon path to each desktop.ini.

That would seem to be one way to do it.

Perhaps the simplest option is to create all the relevant desktop.ini's and then copy those to the folders whose icons are to be changed.
