How to put back white search background?

hi there,

build Version 10.0.19043.1320

i just noticed that my Search now has a black background, i think has to do with this Microsoft is rolling out dark mode for Windows 10 Search - i am not a fan and i like the white background.

Now, i have these settings in customisation:




and here's how the search looks like



can i revert back to the previous white one without having white everywhere altogether? i like start menu etc.

my other computer (same windows build) doesn't show this.

thanks, although easier on the eyes, i was working outside today over a sunny day and the black search background isn't good - perhaps at night but not in daytime. Looking for a registry hack to revert now....

yes, but then everything goes white everywhere and loses crispness and all murky not good either, i liked how it was before. which actually is a hybrid with black windows bar and start menu with white search bar. now it's either or

Well if you are outside and dark background is hard to see, wouldn't you want light background for everything while outside?

I'd prefer consistency vs blinding hybrid some-dark, some-light backgrounds - they still have more work to do on this.

i get your point, is just the Startup menu and tiles look REALLY odd when you put all white, can't stand it.. anyway moving on, let's see what's the next iteration - thanks for feedback guys.

not sure what happened but last night i had white background on the search, not sure what's going on - does that change after a certain hour of the day? now it's back to black (it's like morning time)....

Happening to me as well, do you know how to fix it, or is it another bug from Microsoft?
