    Taskbar colors

Let me start out by saying that the people here have been very helpful to me since I started using Windows 10.

I am finding Windows 10 to be very hard to customize, especially where colors are concerned. I like a light interface, so my color scheme is "Light". That makes all my tabs on the task bar light gray. The problem is that the current tab is almost the same color as the other tabs, so it is hard to see which tab is currently active. If I mess around with my color schemes, then it ends up changing other things that I don't want to change.

The option that would allow me to apply my accent color to the task bar is grayed out for some reason. Using the High Contrast feature is useless because the screen turns into a nightmare of black and white.

Any ideas as to how I can lighten or darken the currently active tab so that I can distinguish it from the other tabs?

    Thank you.

At the default settings, it makes the Taskbar... clear, so you ONLY see the icons.

    Thanks.

Just as a reminder, I am looking for a way to make the currently active tab either lighter or darker than the other tabs so that I can see which tab I am working on when I am looking at the task bar.

    I don't think that's possible.
If there's a way to do it... it's probably in the Tutorials.

I doubt it's in any tutorials, but I'll look. If it is, they probably just say to turn on High Contrast. Where can I find the tutorials -- in Windows or on their web site?

One thing I've noticed is that the option "Show accent colors on the following surfaces: Start, taskbar, and action center" is grayed out for me. That might be the feature I want. Any idea how I can access it?

That option only become un-greyed with certain settings.

I'm using similar settings to what you are, but that option is grayed out for me.

I don't think "similar" will cut it.

Try exactly... and work your way back to see what makes that option become greyed out.
