How to Disable Ad Screen and Sign in Screen

    Hi All:

I have a new Win 10 install and trying to set it up to image so I will have a starting point after any disaster.
I really don't like waiting on the Sign-In screen to go away and have read here, I think, that it covers some process when you start up. I'd rather watch all the magic than the curtain so if anyone has an idea how to get rid of it I'm obliged.
Second, now that I have hooked the machine up to internet I am getting a screen I can only describe as a billboard for MS products. I have no quarrel with MS but really don't want to look at ads for OneDrive etc. Is there a way to get rid of this thing as well?
From what I've read so far, probably not but I thought: "A quest is always a nice change.", so why not?

Thanks for any help. Win 10 21H1 (Can't find the build number right now)

You can automatically log in to a given account so you don't see the login screen at all.
tenforums tutorial available. (The tutorial section has a search feature you can use).

Do you mean via Edge as per this thread?

It is possible to set Edge to open at about:blank, for example, if that helps:

What you are seeing is the Lock Screen, by default this appears first and has to be dismissed (swipe up, click on it, etc.) to get to the Sign in screen.

The links you see (not always MS promo stuff, often info about the picture you are seeing) are because by default the Lock Screen is set to show Spotlight pictures.

You can change the Lock Screen background to a picture of you own choosing, if you do so it will not have the Spotlight 'ads'...

...or skip showing the Lock Screen and go straight to the Sign in screen. Turning off 'Require Sign-in on Wakeup' will also prevent the Lock Screen showing at Start up.

Turn On or Off Require Sign-in on Wakeup in Windows 10

If you use a local account with no password then with the Lock screen turned off you'll boot straight to the desktop, briefly seeing the sign in screen as it signs you in automatically.

If you have a local account with a password, or use a Microsoft account, then you'll have to set up automatic sign in for that account.

Wow, Thanks Guys for the response. I have been going through the tutorials which appear very comprehensive. (When is Brink not comprehensive? :) ) but didn't put two and two together as to subjects. Funny. I've been on Win 7 for so long some of this stuff I probably disabled years ago and just forgot.
    Again, Thanks for the help.

So I followed the tutorials and got it working like I want. Thank You!
