Win 10 taskbar -> Win 11 taskbar: A downgrade, and what to do about it

    Hello,
    Hello,

I'm posting this in the Windows 10 forum, not 11 forum, deliberately. This message is meant for everybody who's about to switch to Windows 11 or will buy a new Win 11 computer.

Windows 11's taskbar lacks the following:

    1. You can't make the taskbar show all program windows directly as buttons the taskbar (instead of them popping up only on hover).
    2. You can't make the titles of the program's title directly visible (e.g., letter-dr-smith.doc).
    3. For example, your taskbar will NOT look like this.

    Edge ---- Chrome ---- drsmith.doc ---- drmeyer.doc ---- notes.txt

    BUT:

ICON (edge) -- ICON (chrome) -- ICON (MS office) -- ICON (Editor)

    4. It is also not possible to drag files or text to a program's icon to then drop it into that application.

In Microsoft's Feedback Hub application, there are already items where peole are upset about that -- mind you, it's not about the inability to move the taskbar to the left or top, few people do this, so do not choose that Feedback item that requests that -- there are other item that are about the general lack of customizabilty and THAT is the problem (see what I described in 1 ... 4).

So since this really affects everyday work, I would like to ask everybody who is also annoyed by this to actually go MS feedback hub in Win 11 and post your feedback to MS so they will act on this as fast as possible, and give as many options back as possible, and perhaps even more, like I described above, if this is what you prefer too.

Perhaps one should even start a petition elsewhere.... It's really sad because otherwise, Windows 11 is really very nice.
