Windows Hello MUI not taking effect

    (First post, please be gentle)

I am running a Windows 10 laptop (21H2, Enterprise), and I am attempting to modify the Windows Hello text by overwriting the MUI file C:\Windows\System32\en-GB\biocredprov.dll.mui

I have pasted the new MUI file in the same place, replacing the original. However, the text stays the same, even after signing out and restarting etc. My display language is English: UK.

Any help would be appreciated :-)

Hello lahoek, and welcome to TenForums.

You'll find us a friendly and helpful lot, but you have to be clear about what, exactly, you have, and what, exactly, you need.

No one else has attempted an answer to your plight, so I'm going to start by just admitting that I have no idea what you're trying to repair when you say you want to "modify the Windows Hello text." Can you give us a clue as to what the text is that you want to modify?

All I see when I look at the Windows Hello sign-in options are buttons for Change and Remove. If you remove the thing you've set up, you can start all over again, without fiddling around with system files in Sytem32.

So tell me, what are you trying to accomplish?

    Windows Hello Text

    Hello,

By the Windows Hello Text, I mean the text that is displayed on the login/welcome screen when you sign in: like where it says "Welcome" if you use a password, but for Windows Hello.

    I hope this helps :-)

OK, I think I understand. When I log onto my computers, after the lock screen (which I have disabled so that it doesn't show up), the log-in screen shows my log-in User Name. In my case, it shows AAW and the blank for my PIN, and when I type in my PIN, the screen changes to "Welcome," with AAW underneath (or above, I don't remember, because I don't log in currently; I have my computers set to auto-login).and my selected user image.

Is what you're trying to change the text "AAW" that I see?
Do you have a misspelled word, like "lahook" on the screen with Welcome?
