    Is there a way to remove program name text on start menu icons


    Is there a way to remove text on start menu icons without renaming the actual program ?
    I know i can make them the smallest size and the text does not show but is there a way to do it on medium and large icons ?

    So like in this example it would show the icon but not 'malwarebytes' text

    Hello @zooburner,


    If I understand you correctly, there should be an .ico [ Icon ] file somewhere in the Softwares Program Files. You could try replacing that with one that you want. A Google search gave me these for example . . .

    > malwarebytes .ico

    There are also Icon Archive sites that you could search.


    If it is a Shortcut, have you tried right-clicking the Icon > Properties > [SIZE=3]Change Icon[SIZE]?

    There is a program that someone made based off a stackexchange post, but I don't remember the name of it. I'm sure by now there are a few of them. I think the one I had used is TIleIconfier

    basically start menu tiles have a property xml stylesheet and one of the values is show name on 150x150 (medium) tile



    don't mess around with the xml files. use a program to manage it for you
