How to add app to right-click menu

I have Photoshop 2020 on my computer. But it does not appear in the Right Click Menu for any kind of app. I did the following: In RegEdit, I went to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell.

I added a new entry for Shell: Photoshop. Created a new subfolder there called command. And for that I added the path to Adobe Photoshop 2020. But, right-clicking doesn't bring this up.

    Did I do something wrong?

    Thanks.

I thought it worked and it did once with right clicking on a jpg but now it doesn't. Right clicking on TIFs works (loading Photoshop) but not jpgs.

Great little tutorial. Thanks for directing us to it. Interesting, clear, and useful. (Worth a thumbs up.)
