    Windows Spotlight Issue

    Hello,

I was having trouble with the windows spotlight images cycling. At the login screen, it always showed the same one windows spotlight image. I followed this guide

How to fix Windows Spotlight Lock screen errors on Windows 10 | Windows Central

but it did NOT fix the issue. Now when I am at the login screen, I just have a blank blue background.

I did a system restore and it did not do anything in regards to the windows 10 spotlight or the files that the guide said to delete. Is there a way to fix this? I would appreciate a way to revert what the guide did. Thank you.

Hello, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You can try the similar method in the tutorial below to see if it may help.

Reset and Re-register Windows Spotlight in Windows 10

If not, then you could try doing a repair install of Windows 10.

It can take 24-48 hours for the picture to change. Are there new files appearing under the Assets folder?

No, the guide that I linked to had me delete the files. No files are there. I did the guide a few weeks ago. So it has definitely been more than 24-48 hours. Thank you for your response.

Hello. I appreciate the response. I am a bit skeptical about trying a different guide after the last guide I tried, the one I linked to, did not help and seemed to make the matter worse. I will try the guide you've linked to and hope for the best.

I have used Brink's tutorial to reset/re-register Spotlight a few times, it worked well - with the proviso that it may take 24-48 hours before Spotlight starts updating the photos.

I too have used Brink’s fixes many times with no ill effects on my pc. I would certainly run the Spotlight fix.
An in-place repair is the next step. Download the media creation tool & run this & choose to update now.

    Update:

Unfortunately, now the pictures seem to have stopped cycling. The last few days it has been the same image. Why is that?
