Every Service in Windows (all versions), has a tab called "Dependencies" when you double click the Service.
Just take your time. I spent about 9 months, slowly going through the Services, till I got them all set the way I wanted and the way that had no "side-affects".

I'd just wait till an extremely slow day, and putz around with the Services.

As an aside... when I did get them all set like I wanted, I took a few screenshots of my Services settings and combined them all into one big picture. Just in case I ever have to re-install Windows.

Like so... ( I purposely blurred the settings, because the will be slightly different for everyone's hardware and software setups).

    Win 10 install: May 2020

This will result in me being covered BOTH ways.
Your OS has been protected in multiple ways. Run the following CMD commands and see what the output is.

    Start "" %WinDir%\System32\UsoClient.exe

    Start "" %WinDir%\System32\SIHClient.exe

    Thanks dalchina,

Bear in mind the safe thing to do is to leave services well alone. Services can be dependent on one another or interact in unexpected ways. Put another way, the possible benefit (a little RAM perhaps?) of disabling a service must be carefully weighed against the possible risk of future unexpected behaviour.

As the Laptop is 10+ years old, I will NOT be updating it. I have it set in a REG File to v1909.

Obviously I am just collating opinions and data at the moment, so when I come to actually do this I can create a System Image FIRST. I just wanted to get a good start on this.

I think there could be a problem with Disabling the WaasMedicSvc.dll because of Permissions in the %WinDir%\System32 Folder!
Run the following CMD command, and you will know whether the problem exists.

    Start "" %WinDir%\System32\WaasMedicSvc.dll

    Access is denied.

    Access is denied.

I think I will leave this aspect for now. If I ever decide to NOT use WUMT, I will address this again then, because I want to cover other aspect of Services rather than just one small part.

Perhaps you could post this in your thread for further investigation if you think it is something worth pursuing or for further investigation?

    Thanks.

I do NOT think I need to because you have said that WUMT [ CMD Script ] already Disables those Services anyway. It is ONLY when somebody decides to change their mind and NOT use WUMT, that the Services would need to be Disabled in the Registry.

Thanks for your input on this Matthew, it is appreciated.

Sorry, I have NEVER said that WUMT will disable those services. The CMD script will disable them.
The script works independently of WUMT.
The script does not rely on WUMT.
