    JB...U R being very kind.

I chkd your latest LO post. He/she still hasn't found success either. Like that poster, I found certain fonts will appear in OO, but not in LO, but then when you move that document back to LO it generates MS substitutes. Again, all the fonts in question work perfectly fine on my old, old HP with modern new Win10 updates, likewise on my similarly old machine put together by my VAR, and also on my wife's HP laptop and my HP laptop. The fonts are obviously not the fault.

It could be that the latest MS updates simply do not want competitive fonts to work. I know that's not nice to say, but when you go to MS community postings, you find thousands of users with the same or similar problems, some going back a year or more, so MS has had plenty of time to delete one line of blocking code when issuing its Patch Tuesday updates.

Unfortunately, I can't switch all those docs (far too many) over to AO which not only SOMETIMES gets it right and SOMETIMES inserts the correct font which doesn't appear correctly a few hours later, but I can't tell clients that my new machine's stupid MS updates won't allow the fonts that those clients picked!

Hi again...again a frustrated user. You sure do dig them up. That's a poster who also is dissatisfied with only a partial solution.

I wonder why no MS folks are responding to this thread or presenting a total solution on MS community forums.

Same problems that I have, and unfortunately this article didn't help me either.

I tried that routine on individual Korinna fonts and on Helvetica and Clearface families with no favorable results.

Ah...JB, you must have the patience of a Tagalog-speaking Trappist monk!

We may have some hope with this possible solution. At the current moment, Korinna, Clearface, and Helvetica fonts now show up in the OO drop down font selection menu, and in Notepad, but not in LO (maybe it needs a nap).

I need to take a break and come back to this with clearer eyes and mind. But for now THANK YOU MOST SINCERELY! I shall return and continue with your 3rd reference above. Thanks, JB.

Go ahead. I have many free fonts but I don’t have problems on them.

Also, try reinstalling the problematic app.
Uninstall LO, restart. Then Install LO.

Restarting will allow temporary files to deleted.

Well, JB...I have tried and tried...but Libre Office doesn't seem to want to cooperate. I uninstalled old version. After restart, I downloaded a clean copy of the latest and greatest...LO 7.1.1.2...and installed it. Works just fine. But it does NOT recognize Clearface, Korinna, Helvetica, American Typewriter, Grouch, Arnold Boecklin, and a few others that are still recognized by OO (finally!) and by Windows/Fonts which is the most important.

You have been very helpful and I appreciate your efforts to assist me. If you have any more thoughts, I'd surely be open to trying anything you (or any other TenForums scribe) come up with. Buenos dias.

You should try cleaninstalling Windows 10?

I will install LO 7.1.2 and see if I have some problems with fonts.

Try free fonts. If the free fonts show up, talk with the forums of your paided fonts.

Thank you, JB, but I'm totally against reinstalling Win 10. That also means reinstalling all my apps and preferences. Too bloody much work and too many frustrations.

FYI, today, in between meetings, a luncheon and a doctor's appointment, I managed to work with two docs -- #1 a spreadsheet and #2 an extensive chart in a word processor -- and both got the fonts right in OO but not in LO, so...until MS straightens out its mess so LO and others can get the fonts as previously...I'll just manipulate certain docs in OO instead of LO. That will make clients and everyone else happy, except me because I'd really, rather stick to one suite than doing certain docs in one and certain docs in a different software.

Thank you for your help in getting me this far. I greatly appreciate your efforts. Applause. Applause.

Use free fonts. If the free fonts show up, the paid fonts are the problematic.
