What is a good way to change desktop background on system startup?

Hi!

Since wallpaper changing is a terrible borked mess, I'm thinking changing it once per system startup (including from hybernation) would be a good compromise, compared to a periodic changing of background. I like the background changing, but not unresponsiveness (global) and GUI blinking (native GUI toolkit apps) that comes with it.

My best guess would be a scheduled task that is (successfully) triggered by a system startup. Though I'd need some command to do that which I don't know, and set the slideshow interval really high. (otherwise I'd need a script to manually select a random image)

For example, Wally can be set to change the background once, then quit. I.e. no overhead. Or, continually change on a schedule.

Example: Wally - very simple to use, nothing much to think about once set.

what is the deskthemepack?

normally, DeskThemePacks has wallpapers, cursors, and sound schemes in windows10.

So having taken a look, I'm not sure what's your suggestion about. It looks like the batch installs one theme. What do you mean by "attaching multiple", and how does it translate to changing backgrounds?

Seeing as the bugged nature of that is the reason I'm looking for a workaround, that's not an option.

Can these bypass Windows' mechanism to change background? I have strong suspicion that the bugginess of the transition effect between backgrounds is the cause of the latency and visual artifacts that happens during a background change.
