I will create a batch file tommorow. The advantage of my batch file is that is free and it is stopping people to change your wallpaper by setting some DeskThemePacks. The disadvantage is the batch file is needed to be on background to work.
So I tried this.
The image change via this app is also afflicted by the issue of lag and flickering GUI's. So it seems the glitch is in Windows' changing of the accent color. For whatever reason.
This might work out though, if it successfully runs and changes the background at startup. (Though it's a bit funny when I set both change on startup and close after change. :) ) Do you think it actually runs at system startup, or more like user login?
(If the latter I might try to start it on actual system startup via Task Scheduler, because of separate issue. Though that almost always fails, if it ever succeeded for me. I can't recall an occasion)
(speaking of: have you ever hear of a sort of third party accent color changer app? Which would generate more pleasing colors?)

I may be reading this thread wrong in thinking the image wants to be loaded showing the sign-in details, before Windows starts loading which would be necessary for running apps to make changes. Some years ago it was possible to do it with earlier versions of Windows, 98SE and earlier, that still used the autoexec.bat and/or config.sys files to configure the computer before Windows functioned. Used to do it to set particular colored icons for different hard drives.

Well, it was the latter, so I tried Task Scheduler. And well, the program ran, but the background image ended up being only 1024*768 resolution in the middle of blackness. Too bad, otherwise it successfully changed the background.
Ugh.
Any other trigger outside logon that I tried results in an 1024*768 image...

I see, that requires some patching (or other hacking) to work, right? So that third party themes can be set to be used.
I have a number of pictures though. Creating a theme for might require exorbitant time.
I wonder why this is though. Is it some sort of default resolution?
What I don't get is why would it fail to get the proper resolution on both startup, and shutdown.
