How do I get the classic control Panel off my taskbar onto the desktop

How do I get the classic control Panel off my taskbar onto the desktop where I want it to be?

I called up control panel using Cortana on a Windows 10 Professional build 20H2 PC. Then I right-clicked the classic Control Panel and told it to pin it to the taskbar. It worked. It is now pinned to the taskbar taking up valuable space. I'd like to move it to my desktop where I have plenty of room. How do I do that?

    Thanks in advance!

Several ways around this. Here's one:
Open the control panel and rt click & drag from text Control Panel onto your desktop to create a shortcut:

    Then unpin the taskbar icon.

That's one way to do it- there are many.

There's a tutorial... and a downloadable shortcut too!
