Anyone would know how to fix a single letter in Font?

I used this (3rd post from the end) https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...55e6e88?auth=1

to disable font anti-aliasing in Windows. Before you say Clear-Type and smooth edges of screen fonts, I already disabled this, it doesn't work! Also: this solution doesn't work everywhere e.g. in Win+i, start menu and in some programs. Disabling AA in NVCP has no effect for this!

So... anyone know how to fix one letter? Slashes "/" sometimes show like crossed W with symbol: "_" in the middle of W. E.g. in regedit and on websites... But I can write / like this fine and it shows like / somewhere...

I use font Dotum - I think, as post instructed: I had to download Dotum front and change Segoe entries in regedit to "" which is empty value, space, or nothing - not sure. And one entry: I was supposed to change to Dotum.

    Ty!

    Hello @empleat,

Have you looked to see if the Keyboard Layout has got screwed up somehow? . . .

    > How to Set Default Keyboard Input Language in Windows 10

    I hope this helps.

I am talking about visual fonts, not keyboard input. It works perfectly fine!

Bump. I found a program - FontForge. Which allows you to edit a font, but didn't find specific tutorial how to modify a font and change single character. Any ideas how to do this?

I don't need anything fancy. How difficult would be to edit Windows font and simply replace one character by a character from another system font. I cannot google how to do it! My backslash \ is displayed as W crossed with underscore in middle. I found FontForge, but I read it has steep learning curve and it doesn't have tutorial on this. I simply need to replace one character from one font by another character!

If anyone knows how to do this, I would appreaciate it!

Have you checked the Character Map for the languages involved to see if the character exists?

It is: path separator in Japanese and a won in Korean. I had idea to just edit font and replace this character with classical backslash from random system font. But
    1. I can't even locate font in location it says under windows+i - search: fonts
    2. And I didn't find tutorial how to do this with font editing program

I read font forge for example has steep learning curve, but this doesn't sound that difficult, no idea how hard this would be to do...

I use a particular character that can be inserted using the Number pad by holding down the Alt key and typing the associated number for the character but on Notebooks without the added Number pad I locate the character in the Character Map, click on it then click Select then Copy followed by Paste in the location I want. An example of the slash zero I had to use for over 30 years at work: ø
