    Background color for Start Menu

Recently Win Update installed the latest version of Windows 10 (20H2), and I am left with a white background in my Start Menu (see picture)

I went to Settings, but when I try to change the color, the check box to change the Start Menu is grayed out. (see picture)

    Does anyone have a solution?

As a side note, the pictures included are from my iPhone. The function to take a screen shot with ALT+PrintScr opens my browser to the home page, of all things. There used to be a thing called Paint, and I hit ALT+Print SCR and then pasted it into Paint. Now that utility doesn't exist. I have read numberous tutorials regarding screenshots. I still don't get it. After I take the screen shot, where do I view it, or save it?

    Thanks,

    TRS

I see the problem. You tried to use logic. Logic doesn't work with Windows 10.
Try this... set w/e color you want though.

NOW, you should be able to click the "Start, taskbar and action center" box.

There still is Paint. It's down in Windows Accessories on the Start Menu.
I've never used your PrtSc method. I just hit PrtSc, and then manually paste in Paint or some other image editor.

You can also use the PrtSc key for Snipping...

You also need to change it from Light to Dark.

    Also turn off transparency effects.

Yeah, if I didn't make it clear... you have to use all the settings shown in my screen shot above.
Except you can choose any color.
THEN you will be able to put a check mark in... the "Start, taskbar and action center" box.

Here's what mine looks like without checking the "Start, taskbar and action center" box.

I don`t check either of those boxes.

    I see no reason to.

IF I choose the blue color you picked AND put a check in the "Start, taskbar and action center" box.
    It looks like this...

In 20H2 they made the Start menu color and the tiles color... much closer together, than before.
That's the main reason I chose the grey color, that I did.
I think the dark Start menu and taskbar looks better.

Or..., use W10 Color Control and be done with it, in 1 click...

(Geez, it never ceases to amaze me why MS makes everything a convoluted pita!)

Try this... set w/e color you want though.

I copied your screen exactly and it worked..thanks. I have no idea what w/e is, unless you mean Windows Explorer. Also, how do I get rid of the pinkish background?

    w/e = what ever

Pinkish color? You'll have to post a screen shot.
