Log-in Screen Image Won't Stay Set Properly

    Hi,
I'm having an issue with the image on the sign-in screen displaying properly, I'm currently running Version 21H1, Build 19043.899, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3030.0. I go into the settings area and choose the image that I desire to see on my lockscreen, I currently have the box that says display lockscreen image on my sign-in screen checked. For some reason on the computer I'm typing this post on the 'selected' image fails to display & instead a different image that I really don't like displays. I have a different computer that's running the exact same version of windows 10 it all of my images get displayed properly. I'm to the point that I really don't know what to do next, in file explorer I have the settings set to show all of the 'hidden' settings that normally can't be seen. I know that there MUST be a way to correct my issue, but so far I haven't been able find it yet.

    Hello David,

Just to verify, do you have Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen turned on below?

Show Lock Screen Background on Sign-in Screen in Windows 10

If so, see if you can post some screenshots of your related settings and your sign-in screen to see if anything may stand out.

    Hi,
Brink Asked "Just to verify, do you have Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen turned on below?" Just for trial purposes, I've checked the box & un-checked to see what difference it made, by having it un-checked the sign-in screen functioned as it's supposed to..there was just a solid color & no image displayed. There has to be a setting either in the registry, gpedit, or in the file explorer settings that I can modify so I won't have to see the image that's currently showing even though it's NOT the image I've manually chosen to be displayed on my lock screen & with the box checked on my welcome screen. As I currently have all of my windows 10 computers setup basically the same whereas to auto-login so I don't have to enter any p.i.n. or password I can't understand why just the computer I'm currently using to type this reply on is having this issue. Thanks in advance for any help that might be provided !
    David

As a test, does this still happen if you use one of the default pictures for the lock screen background instead of a custom picture at some other location?

Is this happening on the Sign-in screen at startup, after locking (Win+L) the computer, or both?

If you can take a screenshot of the Sign-in screen (phone cam if needed) and your lock screen settings and post them here, it may help if anything stands out from them.

    Hi,
Up until now I never lock my computer because I'm the only one who uses it. I can try locking it and see if that makes any difference. As the computer in question isn't my main one I could always just reinstall windows 10 and see if makes any difference. Stay Safe & Thanks
