    Changing colors in Windows 10

    version2004 OS build 19041.867

Hello, I followed the instructions for changing windows 10 background color, and selected color then entered RGB numbers and added custom color. I then signed out and back into the pc and went back and re-did it. The RGB was already in Edit colors in paint. It didnt work. What did I do wrong, or what else do I need to do please.

Signing out should not be necessary. When you select "Done" it should be instantaneous. I would attempt it again, perhaps using the tutorial @Brink posted !

Yes I am, and I've done it 3 times without signing out and no change. The RGB was 106181181 a sage color. Just did it again and nothing. Why does the instruction say sign out and sign in then? Well for me its a no go. I hope you have a suggestion. It's driving me nuts and white is too stark bright.
    Thank you Betta

Let's see a screenshot of your registry setting to see if anything may stand out.

I'll also test it on my system to see how it does.

There is no doc. attachment icon here. I went to advanced but it wouldn't upload or drag. Am I a lost cause?

The tutorial below can help show you how to upload and attach a file or screenshot to a post here.

It's best to use a .jpg or .png for a screenshot, but you can always ZIP a file to upload and post it if the file type is not supported to upload.

It looks like you typed the value data incorrectly for the Windows string value (REG_SZ).

It should be 106 181 181 with the space included between the RGB values instead of 106181181.

I put it in with spaces, and closed out registry No change. Should I sign out of windows and back in?
