Create custom tile for web link? With custom image on tile?
I want to make a tile for a web link to a site. I can find old instructions to do that natively using the Edge browser. A 2015 CNET article gives instructions for doing this for Firefox. I don't know if the information I found still works.
My preference would be to use the logo of the site for the image. There are very old forum posts about this too, but apparently one of the programs no longer exists, and one of the newer ones seems to only work with installed programs, not web sites.
Is there anything new out there that you folks would recommend?
Added later: I have made progress! All of the instructions I found for pinning a web link to the Start menu seem to have been invalidated in both Edge and Firefox. However, Digital Citizen posted last month a way to put a link in a shortcut, and that worked! At least I have double-tap entry on the desktop. I couldn't get it to work for Edge, but it works for Firefox.
Both browsers did give me an option to pin my link to the taskbar. When I did that in Edge it just landed on top of the existing Edge icon. that did not meet my goal of having an identifiable place to tap or click to go to the site so I abandoned it.
So, I'd still like a nice big tile with my preferred image, but I do have something I can settle for.
