How can you bypass the pre-login screen

I hate that screen (pretty as it is) because it is often non-responsive to clicks. I have click in its center get to the login screen.
I am fine to have login because my wife shares the computer so she might want to get to her login. How to start with the login screen?

I'm pretty sure it's this... Settings > Personalization > Lock Screen

...and turn the setting in the RED square... OFF.

For some reason, Microsoft decided to call the login screen... the Lock Screen.

For security reasons you can add Lock as an option to Sign out. That way you can lock your screen but remain logged in.

When you first boot up or are logged out what you see is called the lock screen because that is actually the mode you are in.

You click on the center of the screen to switch to the log-in dialog.
Note that the lock screen picture can be seen blurred in the background.

If you change the option in Personalization > Locksreen to "Off".

Then there is a plain blue screen behind the login-in dialog.

You can eliminate the lock screen when you want to log in by editing the registry.

To see how refer to How to disable the lock screen in Windows 10.

I verified this with Windows 10 Home.

    Don't show lock screen "NoLockScreen = 1"
Show lock screen again "NoLockScreen = 0"

For some reason that setting is still off (first time skipped login) but the lock screen shows away.

Instead of clicking with the mouse, just press the space bar. The mouse actually requires you to swipe up, not just click

You could also just use Winaero Tweaker (free) to do it...

Or you could just do it manually...
Disable Lock Screen in Windows 10 Anniversary Update version 1607

Personally, I like the Winaero Tweaker program. It does lots of neat things with just a check mark here and there.

Once or twice a week I find something new to do in Winaero Tweaker.

Did you edit the registry to disable the lockscreen? That worked fine for me.

However, I switched it back to normal because of one problem. With the lockscreen I could log in using my fingerprint. With the lockscreen disabled that was bypassed requiring me to enter my PIN.

    Hello,

The tutorial below can help show you how to disable the Lock screen so you will only see the Sign-in screen.
