    Disable 20H2 new Start Menu?

I upgraded from Windows 10 version 2004 to 20H2. Is there a way to disable the new start menu and revert it back to what it was in version 2004? Thanks

What do you want to change exactly?

Hi Steve, when I upgrade to 20H2 from version 2004 I notice that the Start Menu changed, the tiles organization, size, color, transparency, etc, it just feels completely different. I would like to revert back to what it was with version 2004. Also, System Info no longer displays information as before (Activation, CPU, etc), that info menu is gone and the only option is the "modern" info page

    Hello antares,
What you are seeing is part of the 20H2 update. Some people have been clamoring for the Start Menu changes. I haven't seen a way to revert these changes short of uninstalling the 20H2 Enablement KB.

I personally have opted to stay with 20H1 for now.

Luckily I backed up and was able to "downgrade" back to version 2004, I can't stand the new Start Menu. I found there's a registry hack in version 2004 to upgrade to the new Start Menu without having to upgrade the OS. Maybe within 20H2 one can locate those registry keys and delete them to be able to revert to the old Start Menu. I have not tested it.

So far I haven't seen anyone ask to go that way with start menu. You already reverted back to 2004? 20H2 lasted about 30 minutes on my PC.

Well, the only thing that bothers me about 20H2 is the new Start Menu and the migration of legacy settings menu to the modern interface (i.e. System Info, etc). It took me 10 minutes to decide to revert back to 2004
I would be willing to stay with 20H2 if there would be a way to keep the 2004 Start Menu

Microsoft will continue making cosmetic changes. They eventually plan to migrate Control Panel away into Windows Settings. You can always submit feedback to them.

Yes I read about that, too sad. I don't care for cosmetic changes, only for under the hood engine upgrades, but it seems developers are lazy to make real important changes that matter for performance.

Windows 10 hides one Control Panel feature, but you can still access it says that the Control Panel won't completely go away.
