Probably inescapable, along with sea-level rise and global warming now..

The Settings Banner has been in the Insider build since way last year, way before W11 was itch in somebody's ear. It's been basically unchanged and is moving from Dev to Beta to RP to RTM, regardless of W10 or W11. I think your "not so distant future" is here.

If that was so simple in life, I would get millions of bottles of that correction fluid to get rid of lots of other things... i.e., not only at MS's level. LOL

    I have windows 10 Pro. Build 19041.vb_release. 191206-1406

I downloaded and extracted ViveTool.exe today but I cannot get it to run even when I try using "Run as Administrator". All I get is a very brief flash on my screen then nothing.

    Am I missing something?

Did you extract the contents of the zip file to a folder and then run it as per the directions? You have to follow one of the two options carefully.

Post a screenshot of the directions and what you've typed or pasted.

However, my experience was the header returned after a restart. I suppose scheduling it on startup might work as I think I suggested.

I did all of the above and nothing was changed after a restart:

    Thank you for replying.

As I said, the effect did not persist after restarting. I would forget about trying this and surrender to the Borg - er- MS.

    I shall ignore it then.
