    This is my taskbar. The Icon I'm pointing at is Show Desktop. It goes directly to desktop.

    I go to two places. The actual desktop and the folder desktop so I can drag and drop stuff easily that I have saved.
    I don't "have" to go to the real desktop, but I do.
    You can drag & drop stuff using the Desktop toolbar as well. You can't create a new file there like you can on the Desktop though but that's never been a showstopper for me. I personally just think it's wasted motion/extra steps to have to minimize all the open apps and go to the desktop. Only reason would be to look at your Desktop background and see how pretty you made your Desktop look.

    I wonder why MS even put that sliver in the corner then to minimize all apps?
    Anyhow, I have one at work, and I had one on my old computer, and I know I will figure out how to put one on this new PC.
    Anal, yes.

    but i already explained the solution for your desktop shortcut
    Ha, yes you did and I tried all except the correct one or I did it wrong.
    This one does it when applied correctly:

    %windir%\explorer.exe shell:::{3080F90D-D7AD-11D9-BD98-0000947B0257}

    Thanks.

    I try to use my keyboard as little as possible at home. A bit of forum posting is usually about it.
    Push buttons....oh yeah.....

    Thanks again.
