Start menu transparency -> Windows 10 ver. 2004

Start menu transparency -> Windows 10 ver. 2004

I was wondering is there a way to make the background 100%.

I have followed these steps but it doesn't work.

How to Increase the Transparency of Windows 10 Start Menu and Taskbar

I guess it'll work in previous versions.

I know there are programs that do this but I don't want to use any.

I get why you don't want to use programs for that, but there's one reason at least - if you have a program that needs to run in the backgroung for these changes to stay enabled, it usually means that if the program's executable should crash for any reason, or when it shuts down during computer power cycling, its custom settings will then revert to the system defaults. This is how TranslucentTB works, and I think it may be safer than permanently changing registry settings. Windows updates (incl. feature updates) may sometimes mess with appearance related registry settings, and having them deviate from the defaults during the update process might mess things up.
