Is it possible to fix the annoying red x on OneDrive's icon?

I have just started using OneDrive and I like it, but I hate that red x. It is alerting me, that the Personal Vault is locked. Well duh, it is supposed to be, all files are already synced. Can I get rid of it or is it permanent?

Hi, a couple of options:
Unlock OneDrive Personal Vault in Windows 10
Enable or Disable Personal Vault in OneDrive and Windows 10

Thanks for the links, but no luck. I guess MS has not really thought it through. A partial solution: Closing OneDrive app or pausing will do, but I can not sync. So no startup for this one, I will have to sync manually.

EDIT: It seems, that MS has fixed the bug, red x no longer shows, neither in the explorer nor in the systray.

P.S. I removed "%SystemDrive%\OneDriveTemp" and Personal Vault shortcut, onedrive created new ones.

Three years after this was posted, I ran into the same problem. Following this advice seems to have fixed it for me. Thank you!
