Desktop Tower DIY Question?

I know this might be a odd question but is it possible to place a DIY skin on a desktop Tower. I have (2) rolls of auto wrap which is a pretty red/pink color. I was wondering if it was possible to place the wrap on my desktop tower and my laptop so they both match.

I want to place some on the cover of the laptop and maybe the inside area around the keyboard area as well. but not actually in between the letters. Just around them.

And I want to place the same wrap on the sides top and front of the tower.

Would this be a issue for heat or might it work as long as I don't cover vent holes and port holes.

Has anyone ever done anything like this before or now if this might even work.

Definitely do NOT cover vents or other air passages. Use as a guide, the temperature of the various places you wish to place the "wrap". Especially around the keyboard area of the laptop, which CAN get hot.

On the advice side... I wouldn't do it. I assume this is some type of self stick wrap. It will be very hard to get in on, w/o wrinkles. After a year or two, it will be even harder to get it off.
Keep in mind, that some day you may wish to sell these computers. The buyer might be less than enthused with you color choices.

If none of that is a concern, then go for it. Place the wrap very slowly, keeping the backing paper in place as you go. This will help prevent the wrinkles.

There's companies out there that do just that....custom wraps for PC's. It just like wrapping an auto....just cut all the openings like on a car. YouTube has some excellent videos on the subject.

Maybe I will just customize the laptop with a keyboard cover and maybe a nice sized sticker on the cover. I don't want anything bad to happen to these after all.

If you just avoid the "heat" areas, you should be fine.

Like I said though, keep in mind, things like resale value and wrinkles.

I have had the tower over 9 years it is the last thing my mother had gotten me before she passed away. So I plan to keep it until it is no longer of use I have gone from windows 7 to 10 on this thing. So I plan to keep it as long as I works. And the laptop was a cheapy it was only $150 when I bought it used. I have had it over 2 years and the price of its worth has dropped since then so its not really work reselling.

So to be honest the biggest worry would be the wrinkles.
