    using dropshade for desktop icons auto-enables


    I have disabled feature under appearance setting called:"using dropshade for desktop icons". Yet sometimes, icons on the desktop having shade, even it is disabled there. Any ideas what may cause this ?

    Anyone having same problem: when drop shadows appear on icon's text all of the sudden ? I have it disabled in appearance setting and yet sometimes, they turn automatically on!!!

    I have the same issue. My computer boots and usually runs with black icon text:
    using dropshade for desktop icons auto-enables-screenshot-408-.png

    But sometimes there's a "hiccup" & the text reverts to White w/ drop-shadow. For me, re-starting the shell (explorer.exe) fixes the issue without disrupting anything except open Explorer windows. I keep a shortcut named Restart Shell on the Desktop.
    1. RIght-click on the Desktop
    2. Select New > Shortcut
    3. Copy & paste the following as the target:
      powershell -command "gps explorer | spps"
    4. Click Next & name it whatever you like
