    Change "New Folder" Icon

Hello, i would like to know if it's possible to change the icon of the default yellow folder on windows 10.
I know that after you create a new folder you can go to propreties and change it, but my question is if you can change the default icon to your own icon and be able to see your icon in all folders after you create them. Thank you.

I don't think you can change that alone.

What you could do is add as many options as you like to the context menu that copy empty an empty folder you have prepared with a unique icon from a folder containing a set of such folders.

There are various tools to add new context menu entries such as File Menu Tools, Easy Context Menu..
You will need to create a small script to copy the folder which is executed when the option is clicked.

    You could add entries like
    New folder star
    New folder tick
    New folder football
    - whatever you like.

The default folder can be changed at reg key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Icons,
But I'm not sure that is exactly what you want to do.

You might want to look at Stardock product line. This 3rd party software allows a lot of personal customization of the OS that you normally can't do. Specifically Object Desktop and the Icon package with in it.

@oslo77 Pejole2165 is right , this is the right path in registry to get what you want but you need to create on right click 2 new String values as on my screen ( 3 & 4 names ) then set as value for each the same path to point to your desired custom icon .

Without need of any third party tool if you don't want .

That's how I get my own custom " new folder " icon .

Note, that if you want to see it on every folder, you have to disable to "show thumbnails instead of icons", otherwise you will see it only on the new empty folders.
