    I've just tested this:

    Customize Colors in Windows 10 - WinTools.Info

I could only change highlighted item in right pane but maybe that's because i'm using custom fonts in bold and a non system font (replaced system font)

I suppose you could try it and it does offer to backup. There is also an option to restore default.

    I just got this:
Thanks again. I'm using a semi-bold font for a system font & custom fonts. I tried this, using the Classic Color Panel - Admin mode. I applied the change & logged off, but nothing changed.Changing the Color of the Context Menu & it's Font-buttonhighlight.png

Is that RegCool? I have RegCool (64-bit), v1.120, but it's the portable one. The interface looks like this:

It doesn't say x64, but that's the link I downloaded from. The backups are under History, in the lower left corner.

No the screenshot I posted is from Tablacus Explorer but I wouldn't be tempted to download it as it requires a fair amount of configuration and installing additional addons to work well.

Cannot permanantly sort items in Windows Explorer

Your screenshot of Regcool looks like what I see when I run the program.

For backup reg files look in program folder here:

In Winaero, under Advanced Appearance Settings:

Menus - controls menu font sizes (including context menus)
System Font - controls the font used everywhere (Segoe, Times New Roman etc.)

Thanks. Already mentioned a lot in the first couple of pages of this thread.

It may cause problems with some buttons and symbols. See:

    winaero tweaker?

Win 10 Pro Creators update taskbar clock anomaly - any suggestions?

Yeah, saw Winaero was mentioned. Just wanted to make it clear it's easily done. I agree some things are best left alone. I mostly use it to make fonts bigger and easier to read. Any other customizations I do are usually from hacks obtained on reputable sites like How To Geek or right here (I have complete faith in you folks and in Brink's ready made registry hacks).

I'm a very big believer in the motto "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Well, almost. I admit I've broken my system a few times. Okay, who am I kidding, I've broken it many times. Live and learn
