If I have like 20 instances of windows explorer open I get the above (already checked show full pathnames in explorer options). I need this behavior to be consistant no matter if I have 1 or 40 windows open I need the full pathname (or a drive letter next to the final folder but this is not something I've already seen programmed into windows) as I have multiple SSDs and HDD with similar end folder names.

By default windows explorer tabs show the last folder's name and I had started to include hints in the final folder names with new folders but its makes you have to reference the hard drive manufacturer code at the end of each subfolder title along way in the full path. Some folders I can't change because it would break stuff I've carried over from windows 7.

Hi, I will keep this idea brief as some immediately dismiss the idea of 3rd party tools.

There are some 3rd party tools - both free and paid- that offer favourite/recent items lists that may suit you better.

Thanks for the input but I'm certain a registry modification is all I need, since the behavior is there to start with I just need to trigger it from when a single windows explorer window is opened. I would have looked for a guide but its pretty difficult to summarise.

I'm going to chime in on support of this as there are times third-party software can be quite useful. Creating a program "for the masses" can be problematic as not all desires can be known in advance of publication, a good reason to have the Insider Preview or Test/BETA software. Quite a bit of it boils down to what a user wants/needs/desires.
