Windows 10 This PC showing wrong icon

Hello all, I have a unique issue with the following OS:

    Windows 10 (ver.1909) x64 Upgrade from Windows 7 x64
    PC/Desktop

I am able to change the icon associated with "This PC" in Desktop Icon Settings, and these changes do appear when I open File Explorer, however, the wrong icon is displayed when typing "This PC" from the Start Menu. It displays an old icon used back on Windows 7 before the upgrade to 10.

Also, possibly unrelated... I have "This PC" pinned to my Start Menu Tile, and it too shows the wrong icon, but instead of the old Windows 7 icon appearing, it shows the default Windows 10 icon. I cannot seem to change it.

Before anyone asks; when I Pin "This PC" to the Taskbar, the new correct icon appears.

I have no idea what's going on here. Does anyone have any ideas?
sfc /scannow didn't find anything wrong.

The pictured "Wrong" icon appears to be the same one on my computers with a standard/default install of Win10.

Hey FreeBooter, thanks for the url, did all that and sadly didn't help. ;(
Cannot restore default icon to "This PC" in Start search.

Hey Berton & f14tomcat, thanks for the quick reply. I guess I didn't explain well enough, sorry my bad. Let me restart.
I changed the "This PC" to a new icon I created.

    > My new icon appears correctly in "File Explorer" as well as "Desktop Icon Settings"

    > My new icon does not appear in "This PC" pinned to the Start Menu (Windows 10 default icon appears)

    > My new icon does not appear in a search for "This PC" from the Start button, my Windows 7 custom icon appears.

Just tried that, sadly no joy

I have completely exhausted by searches on Google and Youtube, no one else has reported this.

Although it doesn't affect using Windows 10, I hate leaving mysteries unsolved, but ...looks like this one will remain a *bump*.

Sometimes customizations don't work the same as what the programmers designed. This was found by Bing:

Yes I came across this too.
Since I am not going to start changing internal resources from within .dll files, sadly I guess this particular defect in Windows 10 will remain unsolved for now.

Sorry but it's not a defect, seems to what the programmers designed.
