Change Desktop icons from Sort by name to Sort by Item type

    Change Desktop icons from Sort by name to Sort by Item type


    Can someone share with me the registry location of the Desktop icons Sort by? I need to change it in our Default profile. Somehow I changed it to Sort by name and it's should be sort by Item Type before I did a copy profile. If you need additional information, let me know. Working on Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 64 bit.

    The sort for the icons on the Desktop is in this registry key:
    Code:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\1\Desktop
    Which is seperate from the Explorer views, which are under:

    Code:
    HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags
    in one of the numbered subkeys.
