    HOW to remove/disable the Start BUTTON Right Click Context Menu

    Greetings,

    I am using WIN10 64-bit build 18363.657 (1909).

    I have been attempting to DISABLE the start BUTTON right click context menu by using Registry Editor (REGEDIT).

    All I can locate is the following (which does not prevent the right click), even after logging off and restarting the computer.

    Code:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoTrayContextMenu"=dword:00000001
    Any assistance is MUCH appreciated.

    PS I am attempting to do this for school computers to limit the students from venturing into the depths.

    Hello SSN651,

    The NoTrayContextMenu DWORD would only be for the policy for taskbar context menus, and not for the Win+X Quick Link menu when you right click on the Start button.

    I'm not sure about disabling the Win+X Quick Link menu, but you can certainly remove items from it if that may help.

    Thank you Brink.

    The method linked does work, it removes all menu items.

    However, I don't want to do this manually for EACH computer (40) that I have.

    Wanted to automate this into the Reg file I am preparing for user profile customization.

    Any alternatives?
