Transparent apps? Is it a thing?

I've been messing around with transparency and am undecided as to its implementation. Fluent design is a thing with UWP apps and employs all this eye-candy stuff - bringing it to 'normal' apps allows for some manipulation.

The following examples show the differences - a lot depends on the users background, obviously.

Seems it works OK in a Dark theme environment



but can be hard to read with a Light theme.(Maybe we need to tone down the transparency here)



Perhaps MS went with the partial transparent windows for that reason...

I, however, am an all-or-nothing person.. LOL.

Looks nice. I think its from the navigation pain of an app which has transparency. For instance on settings. Would be cool to have the option to enable the whole window like that.
