Suggest you need a larger monitor or several- or you could use virtual desktops.

I'm joking of course- really? 500+ shortcuts on your desktop??

You can shrink image files if you wish. Are you using jpg rather than bmp?
No lot more than 500, that's just the Game shortcuts, on 6 fences on central (of three 1440p) monitors, right screens got two fences of Modding tools/managers, and left ones, got the none gaming stuff on it.
Pic was PNG, and thus big, I know JPG is smaller, but generally less quality, and I prefer PNG for alpha channel, use it a lot to make my own shortcut Icons like this.

Haven't figured out how to shrink them, tried to edit BBCode directly, editor has no size option in insert image tab as some forums do.
    Code:
    Tried this: [img width={width} height={height}]{url}[/img]
    And this: [img={width}x{height}]{url}[/img]
Neither worked with this Imgur URL, but it's only my 2nd post here, usually posting on modding forums.

Windows won't show them bigger than 96×96 yet, but I'm future proofing, not long ago 16×16 Icons took up more screen area, now even what windows calls "Extra Large" look too small @ 1440p, never mind @ 4k+.
Also that's a "PS4 Exclusive Outfit", on my PC, leave it in the files, it gets modded into PC version.

    My Philosophy of things.....

I'm a gamer so my prime concern is getting as much resources applied to the game and the minimum for running the PC....

So, I turn down all the windows effects, putting it in performance mode with a few exceptions. Raggedy screen fonts are irksome.

My preferred thing is putting the most important Icons (Games & System tweakers/monitors either on the desktop or the task bar.

The Windows 10 Start Menu wasn't as bad as I thought. Easy enough to get used to having Tiles rather than Icons (Android got me used to Tiles) and I like the customization

So, I don't run extra menu applications nor really do much to change the Windows 10 desktop

Now, don't get me wrong. When I was doing Desktop computer support at Hughes some of the poor people HAD to switch from Macintosh to Windows PC so I spend a bit of time making the Windows 95 desktop look like a Macintosh desktop.

not 100% but at least the poor guy could find stuff....

I can use any image editor for that, i prefer GIMP

I was talking about reducing an existing image, Like those two I used from previous Imgur uploads, to display it on the forum at a smaller size, than the actual size.
BBCode can do this, those settings in my previous post, are the standard ways to set a displayed size, and many forums have implemented the feature in their WYSIWYG editor, or accept the raw BBCode.
Seems like you can't do that here.
